Tasting
Policy:
SophistiKatered offers mobile
tasting for your convenience. The best way to know you made the
right decision is as simple as a free tasting. Our policy allows
two dishes to be tasted at no additional charge. Extra
menu items will be charged at regular listing price. To schedule a
tasting session, please pick your two menu items and reserve an
appointment at least two weeks in advance. One of SophistiKatered's
representatives will come to you as long as the location is in the
metropolitan Phoenix area.
Deposit
and Rental Policy:
Effective July 2001, any event
scheduled must be confirmed with a thirty percent deposit. In order
to secure the date of the event, the deposit must be made via cash,
credit card or certified check only. The deposit secures the
event and provides for specific items needed for the event. Once an
event is scheduled there is a 72 hour cancellation policy after
which all deposits will be forfeited.
Additionally, there will be a
refundable $150.00 deposit for catering equipment which include but
are not limited to chafing dishes, punch bowls, serving utensils.
etc. All equipment must be returned in the manner in which they
arrived to receive deposit back. In the case of damage or loss of
rentals, the full replacement cost will be charged to credit card on
file. In some cases we outsource rentals, in that case a deposit is
required to be paid to the outsourced rental company as well as
SophistiKatered. Rental company will charge card on file, in the
case of loss or damage of rentals.
Cancellation and
Refund Policy:
There is a 72 hour cancellation
period for all events scheduled, after which all deposits will be
forfeited. There are no refunds. In case of extra-ordinary
situations, refunds will take 2-3 weeks to process in the form of a
check only.
Set up
Policy:
In the event that an event needs
to be set up sooner than two hours before the start time of the
event, there will be a $100.00 charge in addition to a hourly charge
of $10.00 (per set up crew member) to be paid to set up crew.
Events with servers exceeding four hours will be charged an extra
$50.00 per hour.
Customer Referral
Policy:
SophistiKatered appreciates
referrals, so there are incentives for our customers. For
a referral that schedules and follows through with an event of
50 or more people, SophistiKatered will take 15% off your event and
for every other referral, you will receive an additional 5% off. The
only criteria to meet is that your referral must pay the deposit and
not cancel the event.
Vendor Referral
Policy:
SophistiKatered can refer other
vendors to you. The vendors include but are not limited to Disc
Jockey's. Decorators. Photographers, Videographers, Florists,
Bartenders, etc. From time to time these vendors may contact you, if
you use their services you may receive a discount on their
services. Additionally, SophistiKatered will not be held liable for
any circumstances arising from use of reffered vendors. Reffered
Vendors are seperate companies from SophistiKatered and use of their
services is at own risk.
Payment
Policy:
Payment for services must be made
in full at least 24 hours prior to time of delivery. Payment
can be made on delivery day with prior arrangements.
The deposit will be deducted from final bill. There will
be a 22% gratuity added to the subtotal price for all served events
(events where servers are present including buffet set up). The
gratuity is 32% on holidays. Charges for additional
services is not included in the per person charge or flat charge,
these charges will be itemized on your invoice. Special orders
paid at time of reservation.
Delivery and Pick
up:
SophistiKatered delivers free of
charge within a 5 mile radius, after which a minimum $25.00 (each
way) delivery and pick up charge will be assessed. Effective
Jan 2007, a feul surcharge will be billed to invoice depending on
delivery area. In the event that a SophistiKatered staff member must
make a trip(s) to event location prior to event, the surcharge will
be charged for each visit.
Credit Card
Policy:
In scheduling an event in the
amount of $500 or more, a credit card must be on file. Events
requiring rental services must have credit card on file. There may
be a 3% credit card handling fee assessed to credit card
payments.
Check Acceptance
Policy:
Business and Certified Checks
will be accepted. Personal Checks are only accepted with bank
balance verification. In the event of a returned check for NSF
a $35.00 fee will be assessed. Alternate form of payment must be
used in paying NSF fee. SophistiKatered reserves the right to refuse
any check at any given time.
Food Service:
Effective November 24, 2005,
SophistiKatered Catering will not serve any other food prepared by
other vendors at events when food by SophistiKatered is also served.
The foods may be present but must be separate and labeled for
liability purposes, SophistiKatered servers will be prohibited
from serving. In the case of an event where other foods are
present, SophistiKatered reserves the right to clearly label and
distinguish from such foods. SophisitiKatered servers are available
to reserve for private events.
SophistiKatered offers
professional servers at 22% gratuity for a 2 hour event. Events over
two hours will be charged $25 an hour per
server.
Clean up
Policy:
A clean up fee of $250.00 (for 2
hours) will be charged for events requiring clean up. The fee
covers clearing of tables, cleaning of dishes, glasses, and
utensils, trash disposal, minor floor clean up, and wipe down of
buffet tables. Additional clean up time may be purchased at $50.00
per hour. Some menu prices already include clean up
fee.
